I spent a month at the ranch and it saved my life. I have overcome a relationship addiction of six years and have the coping skills to battle my lifelong depression. I'm starting a new chapter in my life and I have the ranch to thank for it. The RAs are awesome, the different groups you attend were great. The only thing you should know is that you need to be your own activist. Use your voice to get what you want here. :)

phenomenal program! If you have the opportunity to go here, take it!! The holistic approach and focus on overall wellness is incredible! No matter what you go there for (drug addiction, ED, mental health, etc.), they focus on the root and treating everything. The trauma therapy I received there changed my life. They tackled all of my issues in such a sympathetic and effective way. The community really felt like a family .Even the staff is understanding and caring and incredibly relatable. They offer so many different approaches to therapy, not just equine. This is one program where you really do a lot all the time. Even though I was unhappy about it at first(because I couldn't use the phone and felt like there were too many restrictions), my biggest breakthroughs were all because of this program.

I'm really hesitant to give this feedback, because I had both positive and negative experiences at The Ranch, during the three weeks I spent at Windsong (the women's trauma house). Positive experiences were living with a routine, the maze, DBT, and being able to see the horses every morning. The biggest help was being able to live with other women who had experienced trauma, day in and day out. Negative were how little I actually talked to a therapist one-on-one. I was there for three weeks in December, and I saw my primary therapist twice, and my trauma therapist once. They advertise that you'll see both once a week. I understand that people need time off, especially during the holidays, but my biggest issue is I was charged the full daily cost. Every week I requested additional equine therapy and rides, and was dismissed. No one was told you can't do "dangerous" adventure therapy if you have *ever* had suicidal thoughts. I was treated as an addict when I didn't have an addiction, forced to go to AA and NA meetings regularly. The worst part was the drama. If you don't let 10-20 women spend any time alone (I get it, isolating is bad), there will be drama. At week 2 of my three weeks, an age war began. I was told by another client I couldn't understand other people and was selfish because I saw things differently than someone almost half my age, and staff let it go. Therapists tried talking clients through it, but inevitably, there was ridiculous, childish drama that hurt everyone. That said, I would go back if my insurance would cover me (Blue cross, you're getting your own post). I loved my therapists (Robyn and Monica) and wish I could see them more. Some of the relationships I built will be lifelong. My biggest issue is that my time was cut short, and healing from trauma takes time. The Ranch needs to fix issues, but the majority of issues lie with insurance.

My son entered inpatient at The Ranch a few weeks ago. For the first time my son wants to be in recovery and says The Ranch has already made a tremendous difference in his life. He says the classroom work, counseling sessions, and team activities have been invaluable during this initial phase of his recovery. He has bonded with others in the program and says they support and encourage one another. His counselor has updated me weekly on his progress and the administrative staff have been dedicated to working through the insurance process. Our family is very blessed to have found this program. I am certain this solid foundation will contribute immensely to my son’s full recovery. I will give an update when he completes and succeeds the program :)

I am, and will always be eternally grateful for my time at The Ranch. Rewind to 2012. I had lost all faith in myself, and life itself. I didn't want to live any longer. The Ranch quite literally saved my life. I had hated myself for so long, I didn't even know if self love was possible. Don't get me wrong-- it wasn't a comfortable process. They had me take an honest look at myself and all my negative coping mechanisms. I had to be completely transparent, in order to move forward and heal from the traumas of my past. The trauma work I experienced with the therapists at The Ranch was some of the most healing work I've ever done. My primary therapist truly made me feel cared about as she fiercely advocated for me. Upon discharge I was provided with personalized tools by the therapeutic team to go out into the world and succeed- and I've done just that.

This is a very well run facility, fabulously organized right down to the transportation which was run like a well oiled machine. The days were packed full of groups, individual and intensive therapies. Equine therapy is well integrated in the program as was adventure therapy which was most impactful. Every staff member is RESPECTFUL and very caring and the physicians are very knowledgeable in Trauma, Mental Health and addiction Medicine. The houses are staffed with very caring people and the therapists are great! Discharge planning was covered very well and aftercare outreach team stays involved. I can't say enough about this treatment center.

My journey to The Ranch was the result of an ultimatum given to me by my wife. She told me I had 2 choices: seek treatment at The Ranch for my addiction or move out of the house. My life was unraveling before my eyes. Because of my addiction, I was on the verge of losing everything that I loved, everything that was important to me in my life. Even so, after spending 3 days at The Ranch, I wanted out of there! However, I knew what the consequences would be if I left. I would lose everything! My wife, my family. Maybe even my life! So I reluctantly stayed. As a result, I found a sanctuary. I found a place where the stressors of the real world were gone. As a result, I found myself. And I found my sobriety. I have been living a life of recovery since. I have almost 1 1/2 years of sobriety. The Ranch is not a perfect place. There is no such thing. If one wants to get sober, one must immerse yourself in the program, in the process. No matter what facility, program you're in. I truly believe that I owe my life to The Ranch! The Ranch staff and their programs showed me the way to live a different life. The Brotherhood I formed with other men, who were also struggling with addictions, will be everlasting. My experience at The Ranch was the biggest blessing I could ever have wished for. The Ranch will be a part of my life forever!

I went to The Ranch in 2016 as a 53 year old professional. The idea of going to rehab was not even a possibility to me. Even while in the ICU as a result of alcoholism I despised the idea. But fortunately, I was convinced I needed it. I chose The Ranch and approached going there with the attitude that I was going to get everything I could so I wouldn’t have to repeat the process. In all reality, so I wouldn’t die. The Ranch gave me insight into myself and alcoholism that not only changed the course of my addiction, it changed my life. It differs from some treatment facilities in that there are a multitude of approaches to therapy employed. It isn’t simply a place to repeat 12 step meetings over and again although they are part of the process. I believe that at The Ranch, I not only learned sobriety, I learned a number of life skills that I really needed. I would say that I was missing, which is true, but really they are missing from most of the men I know whether they are addicts of some kind or not. There is a place inside us that needs to have an outlet, a voice. I began to learn the language of that voice at The Ranch. And I’m able to speak it sober.

I discharged from The Ranch a little over a year ago. During one of the most difficult times of my life, I was met with compassion and care by the whole staff. I was given the tools that I needed to put into practice outside of treatment in order to achieve long term recovery.

When I was in the middle of my addiction, I had lost virtually everything. The Ranch gave me my life back. Now I can experience the love of my family and challenging, meaningful work. I owe that to the caring and skilled professionals at the Ranch. Anyone in need of help with addiction should consider the Ranch.

It was here that I have learned the process of recovery is both a recovery from something unmanageable, and a recovery to something greater. The Ranch taught me how to add vibrancy to a previously grey life. The staff was amazing. The challenge of rediscovering my authentic self was cultivated in a very open, compassionate, and safe environment. I learned vulnerability was not just validated, but a true signal of a courageous life. To the Ranch I am highly grateful.

I spent 5 weeks at The Ranch working through my PTSD and trauma issues that were really impacting my life. After over two decades of successful 12 step work it was time to peel back the onion and look at the really icky stuff. The Ranch was a safe, comfortable and productive place to do this work. I especially enjoyed the "house" concept. Living, eating, working and playing with the group of guys in my house made all the difference in the world. It was full immersion therapy, 24/7. From sleeping in a room with other guys to household chores to riding to meeting in the van. We did everything together and I developed some of the closest friendships of my life. The location is peaceful, the therapists are first rate and the work done there is magical. I highly recommend The Ranch for people suffering with the disease of addiction and all of the baggage that goes along with it. The Ranch really changed my life.

The Ranch is home to anyone who is desperate to start their journey of recovery. As they will tell you when you are there, it is not the whole answer. It is a beginning. A solid foundation. When I was there, I learned the fatal nature of my addiction, I connected with my soul, I finally found the correct balance and combination of meds to address my MMD, and I addressed some serious compounding complications around the problem. It was only a beginning though. I needed to devote the rest of my life to the 12 step way of life to truly live a recovered life. I had attempted suicide a week before coming to the Ranch. I was still suicidal for some time while I was there. But at some point, the Ranch helped me find my soul. I am forever grateful for that. The intensity and diversity of their world class work is incredible. I say this having attended two other rehabs and having lived on five different psych wards before trying the Ranch. They address medical, emotional, mental and spiritual concerns. Their approach is holistic with outstanding experts in all fields. I could not afford the cost, but I could not afford to not go. My community helped me pay for it. It was worth every penny to me and to the community that helped me get there. I am now a vibrant, contributing member of that community. If you are a hopeless addict. Go there. Get a start. When you leave, quickly find a sponsor that will take you through the steps as prescribed in the Big Book of AA. Put those steps ahead of everything. I mean everything and enjoy freedom at last. I did. It works.

Staff is very kind and their program is open minded. I went into it expecting to attend the typical AA/NA/CA nonsense, but came out having found a buddhist program that works for me. I am very grateful that this place works the way it did when I was there. I hope they never change a singe thing, but everything is impermanent.
